Jack and Jill

It's a little late, and sorry we didn't do Assassination of Jesse James because we didn't have enough time tonight with Tulip Time going on, so instead we did Jack and Jill.
Jack Sadelstein is a successful advertising executive in Los Angeles with a beautiful wife and kids, who dreads one event each year: the Thanksgiving visit of his identical twin sister Jill. Jill's neediness and passive-aggressiveness is maddening to Jack, turning his normally tranquil life upside down. imdb.com

What James thought:
Burn this....Destroy all copies...has anyone seen this 'cause they will need to be talked to. Al Pacino says this in the movie and it is the only good line of the movie because I like to think that he is talking about the movie as a whole. This is a very stupid film...one of the worst I have seen. To be honest this movie should not have been made, whoever green-lighted this movie must have been drunk or something. The acting was horrible, there is nothing to link the scenes together so it seems more like a skit at times...the comedy sucks!! To top it all off there are four very unfunny racist jokes! Every attempt at making me laugh failed horribly, every attempt it was trying to be a tear jerker I laughed...I know it seems cruel but that's how stupid it was.

What Chase thought:
Ha...haha...hahahahahahahahahahahaha! This movie has officially driven me to farthest reaches of insanity. My mind may not be able to recover from the mind-screwing i have just undergone. The comedy was horrible, stupid, and unbelievably useless. There were several celebrities that have ruined their careers and soiled their reputations for any movies they would be in. This movie just makes me feel bad for anyone that has any reconciliation of anything remotely related to this film. I felt that i was on drugs throughout this entire movie. Either that or the creators of this film were a radical terrorist group bent on destroying the world with destroying the sanity of the human race! Let us all ban together and take down this inexcusable group of people before they launch another attack on the human conscious!

What Josh thought:
Uhm...Uhm...What to say...Uhh....I'm seriously at a loss for words. I can't really think right now. This is such a dumb movie. I...I'm not sure. The cameos were dumb, they ruined their careers like I'm sure that's what the other guys said. But meh, who cares anymore? This movie is so...Lame. Adam Sandler; your career has been ruined by this movie. I don't think anyone went to this movie on opening day, and do you blame them? No. If you wanna kill yourself, just...Watch this movie. I felt like killing myself after watching it. And I still feel like killing myself after this movie. It's one of the worst I have ever seen. Quoth the Raven: NEVER MORE! (As in, never make me see this movie anymore.) And quoth James; Burn it. Destroy it all. All of the copies. Must, die. Please!!!!!!!!!! Btw, if anyone sends a video of you destroying your copy of it I will love you forever. :D (I'm being serious.)

Spy Kids 4

Today my group, minus one (he couldn't make it sadly), reviewed Spy Kids 4. Here is the plot: A retired spy is called back into action, and to bond with her new step-children, she invites them along for the adventure to stop the evil Timekeeper from taking over the world. (imdb.com)

What James thought:
Yes, this movie is for kids and I am taking this into consideration but that doesn't excuse this piece of crap movie!!! I went to this movie in theaters with a different group and it was the second night and it was empty. Don't get me wrong I loved the first two movies and the third seemed to much but this...this is going to far!!! In this movie there are so many time puns that doesn't add anything to it...it's like the movie forgot itself that it was a race against time. There are things that I wouldn't want my kids, I don't have any, but if I did I wouldn't want them to watch this movie but would allow them to see the first two because those were family friendly. For example they were really close, they sensored it at the last second, but Carmen Cortez almost said shit! In the middle of the movie, Marissa Cortez throws a diaper bomb and you can see baby crap flying... definitely don't want my kids to see this until they were 7 or 9. This movie really sucks!!
What Chase thought:
Ok, this movie has been an eye-opener for me. It gave a new side of movie making that I would have thought of using. And if this is the style that future movies are going to use...MAY I DIE NOW AND FREE MYSELF FROM FURTHER AGONY!!! I mean honestly, this movie had no qualities of interest whatsoever and the acting was appalling from every actor! The only character of redeeming qualities would be the dog...yes, the DOG acted better than all the humans in this film. Also, don't even get me started on the amount of time puns! I swear half the dialogue is either a time pun or a sentence including the word time. If you would have seen the first movies you feel the pain of going through this film seeing what this has become. I don't care what age of the person is watching this movie, no human being that has any form of sense or taste in movies could find any enjoyment out of this CRAP!

Secret World of Arrietty (movie)

Today we have a treat! We are reviewing Studio Ghibli's Secret World of Arrietty, and to top it all off, we have a special guest with us, no unfortunately he has nothing to do with this movie, my good friend Zane. Now this is the plot of the film: 14-year-old Arrietty and the rest of the Clock family live in peaceful anonymity as they make their own home from items that they borrow from the house's human inhabitants. However, life changes for the Clocks when a human boy discovers Arrietty.

What James thought:
Wow…What to say about this movie…I really don't think words can describe it… It was a very good movie… One of the best Studio Ghibli films out there. This is a must see and a must buy. I won't say to much more because i don't want to give anything away.

What Zane thought:
Just out-standing anime I've ever seen. The picture graphics were mind blowing . The sound was amazing beyond beliefe. The plot was very good, even though I never read the book. This  anime movie was worth the time and money to see.

What Josh thought:
Just like what the other guys said, this movie was definitely one outstanding movie. I seriously can't even think of what to type because I loved it so much. This movie had the art style of Spirited Away, but yet the feel of an anime or even a children''s movie. This movie is a definite see for children, teens, and adults. The soundtrack of the movie was above and beyond, it definitely had an amazing, the soundtrack, and it definitely related so closely to the movie. I would definitely recommend buying this when it comes out, whether it be on Blu-Ray, DVD, or online.

What Chase thought:
May this movie go down in anime movie history. The beginning of the movie will invite you in and keep you going. The music fits perfectly with the story. All the characters are interesting and add something new to the movie. It gives you a good amount of comedy that i would think anyone would enjoy. Beginning, middle, or end. This movie is incredible throughout and will become the favorite of people of all ages. This movie is a DEFINITE must-see. If you can't go see it, or don't like going to theaters. Then I highly recommend people to get this on DVD or Blu-Ray. Even if you aren't a fan of anime, this movie may just change your mind about it.

House (tv show)

An antisocial maverick doctor who specializes in diagnostic medicine does whatever it takes to solve puzzling cases that come his way using his crack team of doctors and his wits.
I am of course talking about House M.D.

What James thought:
Dr. Gregory House is what makes this show. He is funny, smart, can be a bit of a jerk, and thinks that people can’t be trusted besides himself and his co-workers. This show is interesting to say the least. Some people might think that House is always right and always saves a patient, but he isn’t. In fact, I can recall a few episodes in which House wasn’t just wrong but the patient ended up dying, sure he might start out wrong but he usually finds out what it is in the end, but there are a few episodes that he doesn’t figure out what is wrong. I think it is a very good series and that it is definitely something to go out of the way to watch.

What Chase thought:
This show is definitely what I'd call a serious comedy. House a character that is both serious, funny, brilliant, and can also be caring with his patients and his fellow doctors. He shows this by constantly breaking the rules to get his patients cured. For a t.v. series, House was by far one of the best characters that I’ve seen. He gives great points and theories that normal people wouldn’t come up with. Some people may not like House because of his jerky personality, but that’s what makes his jokes so funny cause he is usually so serious. This series is definitely interesting and absolutely worth checking out.

What Josh thought:

So pretty much..Oh where to start...House has a certain kind of attitude where pretty much he does as eh please and honestly doesn’t care what other people think. He knows the cure, and he believes what he says goes. And that’s that; Doctor House from the get-go can pretty much diagnose whatever disease there is out there. And whenever the doctor diagnoses something, he’s always right. And I mean, always right. And eventually you’ll figure that out during the your time watching this series. While there’s not much I can say about it, I can say this. House has an interesting, and semi-sick sense of humor. He can make any situation funny, at least that’s what it seems to be to me.

Opposite Day (Movie)

So for crappy movie review day we chose Opposite Day. This movie is about a little boy wishes that kids ruled the world and it comes true when a kid pulls out a chord on a business man's, his father's, machine releasing gas that makes adults kids and kids into adults. The kid then think its better this way and try's to convert the whole world instead of the city. So the boy and his sister start realizing that the world is better when the adults were in charge.

What James thought:
So this movie I felt was very stupid. The kids where very annoying and made it seem like all kids were super smart. How did the main villain character know what he was doing the whole time? How did he figure out how to get out of the demystifier and pull a hose that released the gas? How was he strong enough to pull the hose off? It got worse when the main character wished upon a star and it came true...although not through the wish...but when the adults started acting like kids this movie took a turn for the worst...the adults were even more annoying acting like kids then the kids where as kids...and the kids acted like perfect adults...although that is what the gas does...the movie's soundtrack was crap and overall annoying. It brought up the concept of incest, well I thought about it throughout this movie, and in this awful movie THE TWO KIDS WERE ACTUALLY IN THE SAME BED!!! WOAH!!!!!! BAD MOVIE!!!!!! YOU WENT THERE!!!!!! SURE THEY'RE JUST KIDS BUT STILL IN THIS TOPSY TURVY WORLD IT WOULD BE THE SAME AS HUSBAND AND WIFE GETTING IN THE SAME BED EXCEPT THEY'RE BROTHER AND SISTER!!!!!! I MEAN REALLY?!?!!! REALLY??!!!!!!!  Although the kids wouldn't catch it...but since kids act like adults if they switched places with adults it would mean that a brother and sister would be a wife and husband in this messed up world. The two main characters are brother and sister and they hate each other at the start of the movie but as the movie progressed they started getting along, almost to the point as if they WERE married...this movie was very disturbing and very boring. I recommend AVOIDING this movie at all cost.

What Chase thought:
Okay to start, wow just wow. This movie is one the worst movies EVER!!!!!! The plot was horrible, all the characters were annoying, and the logic SUCKS! I mean when the scientist made that machine, he pretty much made a time machine that would turn people into babies and they could just start their lives over again and the boss came in to check on progress and saw the machine he said it was a waste of time. I mean seriously! That would be a freaking gold mine! Also, when the children became like the adults, how would the taxes be paid? How would the government respond to a whole town not paying its taxes? Oh thats right, THEY DONT! Also considering the colateral damage caused by the kids driving, the town would probably last about a month if that. Another point is on reproduction. How would that work? Just think about that for a second. Also, when the main characters got a baby sitter, she had a shirt that said "Will sit for babies." Think about that too. This entire movie is full of incestest comments and innuendoes. This movie is just torture on a screen. If you really hate someone with all your being, this would by far be the worst punishment possible. Rope them to chair, tape there eyes open, shove them in front of this movie, and watch them suffer.

What Josh thought:
Uhm....Uhm....Where do I start...This movie...Just...Just wow...I have a pretty bad headache just watching this. It...is...HORRIBLE. Just like what the other guys said, I'd also recommend avoiding this movie at all costs. Here's the big problem...This movie makes me wanna kill myself...While most of the movie I was kind of drawing stuff...But this movie it just...Ugh...They keep re-using the scenes...Twice with horrible music, and once with kids...With also horrible music...Oh man, and the credits...They played the same music on here during the credits as well. Oh man, this video. I can't take it. Much longer. And the ending...Oh wow, Grandpa with a couple tattoos. And a tattoo that says "The End?" How. Freakin'. CORNY!!! (-_- ) Not to mention...One of the worst parts of the movie...

"The password is...Password...?" "Yes."

Uhm...Really? That's something that only Patrick Star would do. (Yes, Patrick Star from Spongebob.) And they also decided to put some Power Rangers jokes in there, a kid that knows karate? Really? Uhm...How would a 10 year old know karate? Ka-Ra-Tay. (See what I did there?) Anyway, I've recognized some of the actors but I never really figured out where I've seen them until I looked them up...And honestly, their choice of actors is far from perfect. I don't think that they did a good job. Heck, this whole movie did a bad job. (That's why it got a 3.6 out of 10...) My rant...Is pretty much over...Honestly, I think if you wanted to interrogate someone you can make them watch this movie. (Or do the things that Chase has listed above.) Josh, out.

Doctor Who (TV show)

So here it is! Our first review...so without further adieu Doctor Who.

What James thought:
I have watched Doctor Who several times...and I must say that it gets less confusing every time I watch it over...not that its really confusing but somethings get less complicated the more times I watch. With every Doctor regeneration I feel like I lost something only to find that I love the new Doctor as well...except Christopher Eccleston...although he was great I thought that Christopher Eccleston was a bit to silly to be the Doctor, unlike David Tennant and Matt Smith. David Tennant and Matt Smith can be funny but also serious when appropriate. With every regeneration they change... have different tastebuds for example, Matt Smith in his new regeneration didn't know his favorite food, and tried everything from apples to fish fingers and custard. My favorite episode would have to be A Good Man Goes to War, because it shows how powerful the Doctor is...as River Song said in this episode: "He'll rise higher than ever before and then fall so much further"

"Demons run when a good man goes to war"

What Chase thought:
I am relatively new to Doctor Who, but have enjoyed it since I started. When I just started watching, I was insanely confused and didn't get anything but as I continued I started to understand more and more. I enjoy the comedy in every episode and every doctor brings something new to the table. Through each transition of doctors, i've felt so sad because we were losing such a great character but after i saw the new doctor i was like "YES!!!!" Although, it isn't the same with the characters that travel with the doctor. No matter which one it was, i just got continually annoyed with each character. All they seemed to do is complain and ask for the doctor to save them. Even though it's annoying, it's not unbearable.

"Dream Lord: If you die in the dream world, you wake up in                                                       reality. Ask me what happens if you die in reality.
                      Rory Williams: What happens?
Dream Lord: You die, stupid. That's why it's called 'reality'."

What Josh thought:
Also being relatively new to Doctor Who, I'm not as new to the Doctor as Chase is. I have seen almost all of the doctors at least once, from the first doctor all the way to Matt Smith. Doctor Who is definitely one of my favorite Sci-Fi action shows. The show has an amazing feel to it, while some of the episodes are relatively boring. Some are actually really interesting, one of  my favorites is definitely the Weeping Angels episode. David Tennant is an amazing doctor, while I like Matt Smith a tad bit better, David Tennant has very good emotions, he can go from being serious to completely hysterical in a snap. David Tennant also has some very good quotes and he seems more into being the part of the Doctor than the others. But still, I personally like the Matt Smith and Amy Pond team. David Tennant is unpredictable, with a crazy sense of humor and never knowing what he's gonna do. And that's what I have to say about this

The Doctor: [still recently regenerated] Am I... Ginger?
Rose: No, you're just sort of... brown.
The Doctor: Aww, I wanted to be ginger. I've never been ginger. And you, Rose Tyler, fat lot of good you were. You gave up on me. Ooh, that was rude. Is that the kind of man I am now? Am I rude? Rude and not ginger?

What Cecelia thought:
I, having watched all the episodes from Christopher Eccleston to where we are now, have a very strong opinion on this show... It may be one of the greatest sci-fi shows of our generation. I have only watched some of the very old ones, but the newer ones seem to catch my interest more. Christopher Eccleston was fun, but when he did get serious I almost felt I never could connect. With David Tennant when he got serious you sat up and listened. Why, because you could feel his inner struggle with him keeping his distance and giving up and going with Rose. Matt Smith just had a good vibe from the beginning. Smith makes you laugh and smile at his charm, but when he gets angry I always feel like I’m the one he is yelling at. My one big complaint is that season 5 and 6 seem to sometimes be more about the companions (Amy and Rory). David Tennant was my favorite just because his inner struggle make me ache for he to make a decision, but yet you never want it to stop. The stories are great and the characters (most of them) are relatable. That’s it.
